Alice Billon-Galland

Alice Billon-Galland is a Research Associate in the Europe programme at Chatham House, covering security and defence issues. Prior to this she led the European defence programme at the European Leadership Network (ELN) in London. Her current work focuses on transatlantic burden-sharing, EU defence initiatives, EU-NATO relations, and French foreign and defence policy. Alice regularly comments on defence issues for international media from Deutsche Welle to the Wall Street Journal.

Ulrike Franke

Ulrike Franke is a Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), working on German and European security and defence, the future of warfare, and the impact of new technologies such as drones and AI. She has published widely on these and other topics, among others in Die ZEIT, FAZ, RUSI Whitehall Papers, Comparative Strategy, War on the Rocks, and regularly appears as commentator in the media. She hosts the German podcast 'Sicherheitshalber'.

Ashlee Godwin

Ashlee Godwin is a Senior Committee Specialist working for the British Parliament, where she leads a team of international affairs specialists. She also provides policy analysis and manages inquiries for the Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy and the Foreign Affairs Select Committee. Ashlee is a Fulbright Scholar in national security policy-making and a Millennium Fellow with the Atlantic Council.

Chiara Libiseller is a PhD candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the War Studies Department at King’s College London. Her research is situated within the field of Strategic Studies and looks at changes and continuities in discourses on and concepts of war and warfare in the US and UK since the end of the Cold War.

Armida van Rij

Armida van Rij is a Research Associate at the Policy Institute at King's College London, working across security, defence and foreign policy. In addition to carrying out research in these areas, she has conducted projects looking at mitigating the threat of landmines and IEDs, and has examined attitudes to social cohesion and counter-terrorism policy. Armida is a regular contributor to British and international media, appearing on or providing comment to Channel 4, the BBC, CNN, the Atlantic and others.
