It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Madeleine Albright, a tireless defender of democracy, peace, and human rights and advocate for the many whose voices could not be heard. Dr. Albright was an early supporter of WIIS and its mission of advancing the leadership and professional development of women in the field of international peace and security. She was a leader and inspiration for countless women who felt the same passion for working in the service of bringing freedom, prosperity, and dignity to all. She will continue to be a source of inspiration for many women to come.

Women In International Security extends our deepest sympathy to the Albright family.
