Discussing Climate, Technology, Terrorism, And Violent Extremism

WIIS successfully held the third iteration of the Next Generation Symposium in 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the symposium was held virtually over nine months, matching a segment of the international cohort of 20 young professionals and scholars with distinguished commentators. The symposium took place between July 2021 and February 2022.

 

WIIS is grateful to the Carnegie Corporation of New York for its generous support of the 2021 NGS Symposium.

An overview of the Next Generation Symposium participants:

  • Gender: 18 participants were women, and 2 were men.
  • Education: 7 participants were pursuing or had recently completed, their Ph.D., and 11 were current or recent Master’s students.
  • Regional Representation:  Three  participants were from Africa, 6 were from North America, 4 were from Europe, 2 were from South or Southeast Asia, 2 were from the Middle East and North Africa,1 was from Russia, 1 was from Australia and 1 was from Latin America
