Harnessing Innovative Tools of Accountability in Pursuit of International Justice

December 07, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The world is witnessing a time of immense displacement, conflict, and violence, with women and girls exposed to unprecedented rates of sexual and gender-based violence, forced displacement, and a broad range of human rights violations. Without accountability, justice, or protection measures in place, conflict and violence will continue. The international community has worked to establish legal pathways at the domestic, international, and regional levels to respond to demands for justice and accountability. Technology plays an increasingly important role in the fight for justice and accountability. How has the rise of technology shaped the tools available to identify and document atrocities, and how effective are these tools in the fight to prosecute perpetrators of violent crimes?

Join Women In International Security (WIIS) and the Embassy of Liechtenstein on December 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM (EDT) for a discussion focusing on the current state of play in the system of international justice and accountability and ways to harness innovative tools for pursuing justice and accountability for genocide and crimes against humanity while integrating a gendered approach and analysis.
