Programs & Partnership Manager/ Coordinator

Women In International Security (WIIS) is seeking two dedicated and motivated individuals to join the growing team at our global headquarters in Washington D.C. Working together, the Manager and Coordinator will enable WIIS to achieve the highest level of organizational effectiveness by executing public events, cultivating, and maintaining strategic partnerships, providing high-level membership and donor servicing, and maintaining excellent external communication and administration. The ideal candidates will have the proven ability to manage multiple tasks, possess strong relationship-building skills, and successfully implement and maintain strategic partnerships with diverse partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, promote and execute WIIS’ events and programs, including monthly professional development series, mentorship events, and flagship programs.
  • Recruit and retain WIIS’ global members, institutional partners, chapters, and donors.
  • Develop targeted online campaigns and materials to increase WIIS’ membership and donor base.
  • Ensure membership and donor data is maintained with the utmost attention to accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness.
  • Oversee the production of WIIS’ monthly newsletter, and other external communications, including dedicated campaigns to WIIS’ membership and donor base.
  • Provide regular communications and support for WIIS’ national chapters and international affiliates, through holding monthly global calls, working groups, and global convenings.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings and actively participate in activities to support team, organizational, and network-wide goals.
  • Assist the CEO with organizational development through fundraising and sponsorship; help achieve strategic and financial goals.
  • Support the CEO in preparing reports (annual, board, grants) and talking points.
  • Assist with additional administrative tasks and office management as needed.

Programs & Partnership Coordinator: Relevant bachelor’s degree, such as international relations/affairs, women’s/gender studies, or communications. A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience.

Programs & Partnership Manager: Relevant master’s degree, such as international relations/affairs, security studies, women’s/gender studies, non-profit management, or communications. A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive, relevant work experience. Previous supervisory experience is required as the position will manage the intern program and entry-level staff.

Qualifications (Overall):

  • Experience in non-profit organizations, particularly in programming, membership, network-building, communications, or development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience providing clear guidance to many audiences, such as members, donors, and the public-at-large.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience and desire to implement diverse, equitable, and inclusive work practices.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience monitoring key performance indicators in different program areas and refining the strategy and implementation as needed.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to effectively problem solve and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Confidence working with high-level officials (government, diplomats, private sector leaders).
  • Experience in fundraising and/or organizational development.
  • Experience with Salesforce (NPSP), Campaign Monitor, and WordPress. Familiarity with design software like Canva or Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • Experience and comfort in facilitating in-person and virtual meetings using the Zoom platform.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office suite, cloud-based document management software, and online project management tools, including G-Suite.
  • Experience in organizing and implementing social media campaigns on X (Formerly Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • IT and systems management.

Compensation: Coordinator- $50,000-$55,000 and Manager- $57,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience. The benefits package includes generous paid annual and sick leave, federal holidays, health benefits, a retirement plan with a company match, and disability insurance.

Other Requirements: These positions are based in Washington, D.C. While the D.C. office operates on a hybrid basis, preference will be given to candidates in the near vicinity who can attend at least two days per week of meetings and events in person. Occasional travel in the U.S. and overseas may be required. Selected candidates must be legally allowed to work in the U.S. without any need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
