Assistant Professor in Government and Foreign Affairs

The Department of Government and Foreign Affairs and the Wilson Center for Leadership in the Public Interest at Hampden-Sydney College invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in security studies at the Assistant Professor level, beginning Fall 2026. The successful applicant will have research and teaching interests on topics including U.S. and international security, intelligence and cybersecurity, and the history and ethics of irregular warfare.  Faculty teach in a 6-6-7 course rotation with six courses per year for two years and seven courses in the third year.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in political science or related field at the time of appointment; ABDs close to completion will be considered.
